The Festival’s Founding Ensemble-in-Residence, the Calder Quartet has been called “one of America's most satisfying -- and most enterprising -- quartets” by Mark Swed in the Los Angeles Times. This grand finale of the Festival will feature the world premiere of the Festival’s Composers Competition winner Jacob Cooper’s new piece Bad Black Bottom Kind (co-commission by ArtPower!@UCSD) as well as Thomas Adès’ new string quartet The Four Quarters.
